Crose Mechanical: How It All Began
The Crose Mechanical Story
Crose Mechanical was founded in Owen Sound. Eric decided to branch out on his own after one of his good friends told him about a new rebate program offered through Ontario Hydro. The friend was going to get a big rebate if he replaced his furnace. Eric asked how much he was paying for the furnace and his friend informed him $6,000 installed – this is 10 years ago, around 2008.
Eric felt that people were taking advantage of the rebate and because the customer was due for a $1,500 rebate they decided to overprice the cost of the furnace. After thinking it through, Eric wanted to do right by his friend. He decided to get his contractor’s registration and open up his own business.
That was the beginning of Crose Mechanical and how Eric got back into the heating and cooling business.
The Crose Mechanical Team
The Crose Mechanical install team is Chris and Gerard. They primarily do installs on furnaces, water heaters, and fireplaces.
Crose Mechanical is very, very busy, and we’re always looking to add new team members.
Eric believes “working on the Crose Mechanical Team is pretty laid back. We all get along pretty good. We’re fairly flexible. If people need time off for family emergencies, we can work around that. My thoughts for people at Crose Mechanical, as long as you do your job and do a good job and don’t waste time, then you’re gonna fit right in.
We’re easygoing. We pay fairly well. We’ve got benefits, vacation and time off in place. We try to stay current with the Ministry of Labour laws that are going on. A lot of people are concerned about on-call. In this industry, somebody has to be available 24/7 for emergency purposes.
If you’re looking for a different career or a different employer in the HVAC industry, give us a call and we can have a chat over coffee and see if you’d be interested in coming to work with Crose Mechanical.”
Looking to Grow
Crose Mechanical is looking for capable, qualified staff.
Eric says “we have enough work, or the expectation of enough work, to expand to double, or triple, in size.
In an ideal situation, I’d like to add an Electrician, a Plumber, an Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic, and maybe another Oil Mechanic cause there are lots and lots of opportunity in Grey and Bruce Counties.
I think we have a great reputation with the community and people keep calling us. I hate to turn people away, but we can only do what we can do.”
